Soren was initially admitted to Tata Motors Hospital, where doctors recommended urgent advanced treatment.
His personal assistant Veer Singh Munda said the minister suffered critical injuries to his head and arm and was unconscious when brought in.
Health Minister Irfan Ansari confirmed the development, stating that the fall had caused a blood clot in the brain. He added that the state government is closely monitoring Soren’s condition and is in regular touch with the medical team.
News of the incident led to the arrival of several JMM leaders and supporters at the hospital, including MLA Mangal Kalindi and party spokesperson Kunal Sarangi. Senior district officials also visited the hospital to oversee arrangements.
Soren is regarded as a senior tribal leader in the Kolhan region and a key figure in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Following Champai Soren’s departure from the party, he was positioned as a prominent face in the cabinet and was reappointed as Education Minister after the 2024 elections.
Family members, including his sons Somen and Govind Soren, are present in Delhi. The hospital is yet to issue an official statement on his medical status.
Ramdas Soren has long been associated with the Jharkhand movement and is counted among its senior-most leaders. His sudden health emergency has caused concern across political circles in the state.
